Observation Comparisons:
Tenured vs. Probationary

The observation process differs for tenured and probationary teachers in key areas. Tenured teachers typically have one unannounced observation (15-45 minutes), while probationary teachers undergo three unannounced observations (15-20 minutes each). Tenured teachers have the flexibility of pre-observation conferences via email or in-person, while probationary teachers are required to have a mandatory conference. Both groups must have post-observation conferences, but probationary teachers must have their final report submitted within 5 school days. Key dates and submission timelines also vary between tenured and probationary teachers.
